Words of Birds

For something different, I did some practice of my hand drawn texts. They are all names of birds. I like the way these words look as a repeating pattern. There is a little image of this below.

Many things Halloween

Happy Halloween ... almost. This was a micron pen and gouache drawing I did to be a festive card. I added digital color to parts of it. I love drawing holiday stuff!

Postcards for Anthropologie kids event

These ghosts and the spooky llama were used for postcards to a children’s pumpkin painting event at the Anthropologie store in PA where I work. For me, its too cool to see my Illustration work representing our Anthropologie store in this small way.

transportation

Just a quick little gouache illustration. I realized that the water skier’s one ski isn’t really in the water but I feel this is what it would look like if I was trying to water ski.

Sun Flowers

My most recent painting of figures. Gouache and acrylic on watercolor paper. I’m happy with how vibrant this piece turned out. I wanted the background to look more painterly so I layered down different yellows and oranges of gouache paint. Originally I did not have the blue sky in this painting. The top was just additional yellow. It was a little to much yellow in the piece, so I covered it in blue sky. The sky complemented the yellow and orange well. Two small clouds I added to make it more sky-like. I hope to get a few more paintings underway soon. Maybe so fall inspired things.

Birthday balloon

Many jazzy birthday presents

Here are a few birthday cards I did for a greeting card portfolio I have been working on.
The first two are for little kids, and then I did one more for adults.
I did these in gouache and digital color. All have hand drawn types.
